If staying for 1 night or a couple of weeks - if you want to, you can have an opportunity to interact with our friendly farm animals and pets.
You will be staying in your own private house we call The Cubby House.
It is a cosy, unique, self contained house (all you need to bring is any additional food/drink items) made from reclaimed and some new materials and has a homely feel.
We supply your Breakfast items so you can cook when your ready, the beds will be freshly made so you can just flop into bed, towels provided and also some extra food and pantry items too.
We are nestled on a small hill you have fantastic views overlooking Kaikoura Township, Farmlands to the Sea & Mountains. Get your camera ready as the views are amazing, the animals are friendly, the Sunrise and Sunset and Night Sky is stunning, your hosts are friendly and you sure won't forget your stay here for a long time!
Richard and Leanne live at the top of the driveway in a seperate house with 3 of our 6 children. We love our special bit of NZ paradise and we are happy to be able to share our place and easy going lifestyle with you. We will show you around and introduce you to the friendly animals and then pretty much keep to ourselves so you can enjoy your time here. It is up to you how your time is here is spent - if you want to interact with us or keep to yourselves. We are pretty laid back and easy going and whatever you choose to do you will enjoy your stay here and in Kaikoura.
Just make sure you think about how long you want to stay as so many people leave and wish they had booked an extra night here!

To have what we are able to be offering you, you need to be out of town. We are only a quick 8 minute very scenic drive north of town and all of its attractions - if you want a modern house, or a town stay then maybe please book elsewhere. BUT... if you want a different memorable kind of stay in a qwerky house that you will leave feeling relaxed and has pretty much everything you will possibly need for your stay you will be happy you decided to stay here at the Cubby House!
Kaikoura is world famous for Whale watching, Swim/Kayak with Seals and Dolphins & Albatross Tours. Some other activities to do whilst here: Fishing Charters, Trekking, Surfing, Scenic Flights, Mini Golf, Scuba Diving, Snorkelling, 18 hole and 9 hole Golf courses, Mountain Bike tracks, Shopping, Cafes, Pubs, Bike hire, Bird watching and the Ski field is only 90 minutes from our door, Fyffe House, Museum, plus a lot of other outdoor activities. There is plenty to keep you entertained indoors too - Escape Room, Museum, but whatever you choose to do make sure you book your trips early and make time to relax and enjoy the stunning Kaikoura views!
Don't forget your accommodation here is packed with plenty of board games, piano, fantastic chess set, lots of streaming services - netflix, prime, sky tv, disney+ to keep you entertained or just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere!Guest access
The whole unique 3 bedroom house is yours to enjoy whilst you are here.
The Cubby House although is a short distance down the drive from our house yet your accommodation still nice & private.
You aren't here to see us so well keep to ourselves but we will come say hi and introduce you to our pet animals and show you around so you will be sure to maximise and enjoy your stay.

Have your Camera or Phone handy as you never know what you will see happening.
It is also a chance to experience a stay in a fabulous memorable spot and if you choose to you can interact with some friendly farm animals too.
On our mini farm we have:
Sheep, Cows, Goats, Kune Pigs, Ducks, Chickens, Guinea Fowl, Turkeys, Peacock that all love being fed.
Bird aviary that has a few different kind of birds & 1 Golden Pheasant.
1 house dog - she loves and makes sure she gets plenty of pats too!
1 Bengal cat.
If we are bottle feeding any animals you can feed them too!
